Fitness influencer Beto Cunha was shot multiple times at close range as he left his gym in Salvador, Brazil. The attacker pulled up on a motorbike with a delivery bag
A bodybuilding influencer has been gunned down while departing his local gym. Beto Cunha was allegedly shot several times at point-blank range.
He was approached by the assailant as he exited his neighbourhood fitness centre. The perpetrator was reportedly travelling on a motorcycle carrying an app delivery bag. Eyewitnesses claim the gunman opened fire within moments of confronting the startled bodybuilder.
The influencer was killed in the coastal city of Salvador, Brazil, on Wednesday evening. Police are investigating whether Beto was specifically targeted by the shooter or if he fell victim to a botched robbery attempt. Beto, who boasted over 6,500 Instagram followers, possessed more than 30 years of expertise in the fitness sector.
He was recognised for advocating secure and efficient weight-loss techniques and published material on high-performance resistance training, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Beto’s supporters described him as an exemplary character who championed the most disadvantaged residents in his hometown.
A relative stated they cannot fathom why anyone would wish to harm him, noting that the local community remains deeply disturbed by his suspected murder.
His final Instagram post appeared on March 11. Beto urged his followers to monitor what they provide their children to consume.
He said: “Your child only eats what you buy. Healthy children and teenagers, without any pathological conditions that limit their diet, should not be responsible for choosing what they eat every day.
“Parents define the home’s food environment. If the pantry is full of cookies, sodas, chips, sweets, and other ultra-processed foods, rich in sugar, fat, and additives, it’s natural for the child to consume this type of food.
“The truth is simple: the responsibility for the quality of children’s diets is not theirs, it’s ours, the parents.”
One supporter commented: “This could happen to anyone! I’m seriously thinking about leaving Salvador, a city that has been destroyed in every way.”
“A nice, polite guy, my condolences to his family,” remarked Andre.
Maxwell observed: “It’s shocking what we’ve become, may god comfort his family.”
The investigation into his death continues.
