A Bury St Edmunds business owner has been left humbled by the enthusiastic response to the opening of his new bodybuilding gym.
Natalie Darnell and Aras Mustafa, who run My Whey Supplements, in Hatter Street, celebrated the launch of Pump Asylum at the Barton Road Industrial Estate, on Saturday.
The gym opened properly this morning and Aras recalled eager members waiting outside from 5.30am.

Looking at its success, Aras felt the gym was already on the map for bodybuilders.
He said: “Saturday was packed. It was absolutely more than I expected. I was humbled.
“It has also been really good today, with people turning up at all times. I’m going to our first week with a positive feeling.

“Bodybuilding gyms are among the friendliest places, where people can take care of themselves physically and mentally and we want to offer something for everyone and we aim to tackle the stigma surrounding bodybuilding. Some people brought their kids to the launch and that is the next generaton we need to inspire.
“I want to look after our members. If something is broken, I’ll fix it, if something doesn’t work, I’ll replace it. We have equipment you can’t get anywhere else. You need passion in this game, rather than chasing money.”
Aras said the gym has already attracted bodybuilding enthusiasts from elsewhere in the country.

Pump Asylum is open seven days per week.
Monday through Friday hours are 5.30am to 10pm, while it is open from 7am to 8pm on Saturday and 8am to 4pm on Sunday.
