BELPRE, Ohio (WTAP) – A local business owner here in the Mid-Ohio Valley won big at a bodybuilding competition in Dayton, Ohio.
Liz Strong is the owner of Strength Warehouse and is a natural bodybuilding competitor. The Organization of Competitive Bodybuilding, also known as OCB, is the largest natural bodybuilding federation in the world.
She recently traveled to Dayton, Ohio to compete in an OCB Naturals competition and won in the Master’s 35+ age group, and she obtained her OCB Pro Card. An OCB Pro Card is an award an amateur receives when they win the overall in their division and means they can now compete in pro shows to potentially win cash when placing in the top three of that division.
To compete, she explains what all she has to do and what she specifically competed in. For women, the competition categories include physique, figure, wellness and bikini.
“I compete in the bikini division. I compete in two divisions, masters 35+ and open. Masters 35+ is for any bikini competitor that is 35 or older. The open division is for all ages, broken down by height. I placed 3rd place in that division in my last show. We are judged on the symmetry and balance of our physique. Our overall appearance, suit, tan, hair, makeup, poise, confidence, and overall muscle development.”
Alongside her husband, they own a few small local businesses including Integrity Air Services and Strength Warehouse. She is also a cheer coach at Warren High School, and says she loves working with athletes regarding strength and conditioning. She also teaches at WVUP, helping students learn the importance of taking care of their bodies.
Strong is also hosting an intro to bodybuilding seminar on September 27 at 10am at Strength Warehouse. This is a great opportunity to come and hear from local bodybuilders and coaches about what it takes to get on stage.
