Weight Training Club Member Hikaru Hamano Wins Kansai Student Bodybuilding Championship

The Okayama University Weight Training Club competed in the 61st Kansai Student Bodybuilding Championship and the 7th Kansai Men’s Physique Championship, held at Hannan University GYC Hall on September 13.

In the bodybuilding category, Mr. Hikaru Hamano (School of Engineering, 3rd year) won first place, while Mr. Takuma Fukuda (School of Engineering, 2nd year) finished eighth. In the men’s physique category, Mr. Yuta Yamawaki (School of Agriculture, 2nd year) finished eighth, Mr. Shintaro Mannen (School of Agriculture, 4th year) finished 10th, and Mr. Kanata Shiroyanagi (School of Engineering, 2nd year) finished 12th. All five competitors qualified for the All Japan Student Championships.

Reflecting on the competition, Mr. Hamano said, “I was disappointed to finish second last year, so over the past year, I worked toward winning the championship by improving my weaknesses and preparing myself to be in the best possible condition. I am very happy that all the effort I have put in has resulted in a victory. I will not forget to be grateful to everyone who has supported me, and I will give my all until the very end to achieve an even better result at the next All Japan Student Championship.”

We look forward to the continued success of the Okayama University Weight Training Club!
