Steroid-and-booze bodybuilding hopeful finishes last in competition debut

Peter Mossfield, the content creator behind the viral BoozeBagFitness account, competed in the Men’s Classic Physique Open Class B at the 2026 NPC East Coast Mecca Classic in Flushing, New York, on Aug. 8 and finished last among the placed competitors.

According to reports and his own public documentation, Mossfield spent months taking anabolic steroids and drinking heavily—at times claiming up to 24 drinks a day—while deliberately avoiding weight training. The goal was to step on a bodybuilding stage. During his cutting phase he switched to vodka and diet soda. Despite widespread criticism and health concerns raised online, he completed the preparation and entered the show.

Mossfield participated in prejudging. Afterward he left the venue to drink, later saying lower alcohol tolerance from reduced intake caused him to lose track of time and miss the finals and individual posing. He also suggested that not shaving may have affected his presentation. Official results still listed him last in the class.

The NPC East Coast Mecca Classic is a National Physique Committee event held at the Goldstein Theater at Queens College. Mossfield’s experiment, which he chronicled daily on social media, drew significant attention for its unconventional approach of pairing steroids with heavy alcohol use and no training.

Generation Iron and other outlets covered the lead-up to the contest, noting the public debate over the health risks and the unusual path to the stage.
