Mirabai Chanu will lead India’s challenge in weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games 2026 starting on July 23.
Chanu, who won the gold medal in the 2022 edition in the 49 kg, will be among ten other participants in the event which will begin on July 26.
Along with Chanu, Bindiyarani Devi, silver medallist from the 2022 Games, will be another favourite to bring home a medal.
India will have signficant representation in the para powerlifting event as well, with an eight-member contingent.
