Classic Physique standout Wesley Vissers wants his chest on par with Arnold Schwarzenegger. In a YouTube video from July 19, 2026, he broke down his top three exercises to build his upper chest ahead of the Mr. Olympia.
“When the upper chest is flat, the physique misses that shelf, that Arnold-like look that gives Classic Physique its shape. Today, I’m going to show you exactly how to target the upper chest.”
Vissers is a proven commodity in the highly competitive Classic Physique division and has won the Arnold Classic twice. In 2024, he defied the odds and defeated Ramon ‘Dino’ Queiroz in Ohio. The victory has aged particularly well considering the Brazilian went on to win the 2025 Classic Physique Olympia title.
The 2026 bodybuilding season has seen Vissers pick up legitimate momentum. He won the Arnold Classic, Detroit Pro, then took a close runner-up finish against Mike Sommerfeld at the Arnold UK event. Despite coming up short, many consider Vissers to be Dino’s greatest threat heading into Olympia this September.
Wesley Vissers’ 3 Upper Chest Exercises He’s Using to Dominate at 2026 Mr. Olympia
Find his exercises from the video below:
- Incline Smith bench press — 3–4 sets of 8–12 reps
- Incline chest press machine
- Low-to-high cable fly — 2–3 sets of 15–20 reps
Incline Smith bench press
Vissers offered four cues to pay attention to on the incline Smith bench press: elbow and shoulder positioning, keeping the chest high, and keeping the shoulder blades in control.
“Your elbows should not be flared straight out. Your shoulders should not roll forward. Your chest should stay high, and your shoulder blades should stay in control. Every rep should feel like you’re pressing the weight through the upper chest, not just moving the weight from point A to point B.”
He emphasized that the upper chest should be the limiting factor, not the weight.
“The goal is not to lift the heaviest weight possible. The goal is to make the upper chest the limiting factor.”
Incline Machine Press
Vissers broke down how he positions his hands while pressing to keep constant tension on the pecs.
“Apart from free weights, there is a way to actually target the upper chest and maybe even in a more efficient manner. As I mentioned in the beginning, not only pressing upwards, but inwards with the upper arm slightly up and in while the tension is in the upper chest. That is what grows the upper chest.”
“The unique thing about the machine is it is designed to make this motion perfectly.”
He believes the stretch at the bottom and contraction at the top of this movement provide a different stimulus compared to the incline Smith machine press.
“I really like this one because it allows you to stretch at the bottom, but most of all, contract at the top, which differentiates this machine with the Smith machine incline press that we did at the beginning.”
Low-to-high cable fly
To top off his upper pec routine, Vissers finished with low-to-high cable flies. He focused on mind-muscle connection and a pump throughout each repetition.
“The function is to bring the upper arm up and in is exactly the way to hit that upper chest. In my opinion, if you really want to get the maximum out of this movement, step forward a little bit more, really get the stretch in the upper chest, and go all the way up. Feel the incredible burning sensation, AKA mind-muscle connection, in the upper chest, and go back down.”
“It’s really a very nice pump, mind-muscle connection, and true intent on the upper chest development. This is a great way to also finish off a chest workout,” he shared.
Though Vissers’ interests lie in Classic Physique for now, the budding star has hinted at changing divisions in the future. While speaking with four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler, Vissers said, “For sure, it’s going to happen,” when asked if he planned to one day test himself in Open Bodybuilding.
Vissers stands out as one of Ramon Dino’s toughest challenges looking ahead. The 2026 Mr. Olympia is scheduled for September 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
