Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Kabul: The General Directorate of the National Olympic, Physical Education and Sports Committee has announced that Afghan athletes won six colorful medals at the 2026 World Powerlifting Cup hosted by Belarus.
According to the organization, Fawad Shirinsukh, Jaber Shirinsukh, Noor Ahmad Sakhisada and Mirwais Rafizada won gold medals. Ruhollah Khairandish also won a silver medal and Hamidullah Hakimi won a bronze medal in the competition.
Six athletes and one coach from the country participated in the competition and competed with athletes from 10 countries around the world.
The 2026 Powerlifting World Cup began in Belarus on May 6th and concluded on Saturday, May 10th.
