ABILENE, Texas (KLTV/KTRE) – Kirbyville’s Austin Moody finished second in his division, while Central’s Javier Alanis Zamago finished fifth at the Division III Class 3A state powerlifting meet at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene on Friday.
Moody competed in the 181-pound division. He squatted 585 pounds, bench pressed 450 pounds and deadlifted 600 pounds for a total of 1,635 pounds.
Alanis Zamago competed in the super heavyweight division. He squatted 675 pounds, bench pressed 525 pounds and deadlifted 470 pounds for a total of 1,670 pounds.
In the 114-pound division, Sabine’s David Evans-Young finished 17th with a total of 735 pounds. Malakoff’s Marshall Milligan finished 18th with a total of 735 pounds.
In the 123-pound division, Hughes Springs’ Bryce Kelly finished 12th with a total of 955 pounds. Hughes Springs’ Anthony Nickleberry finished 14th with a total of 940 pounds.
In the 132-pound division, Elkhart’s Nate Thompson finished 12th with a total of 1,110 pounds.
In the 148-pound division, Central’s Cody Read finished 12th with a total of 1,270 pounds. Sabine’s Dylan Walls finished 17th with a total of 1,220 pounds. White Oak’s Owen Gee finished 20th with a total of 1,200 pounds.
In the 165-pound division, Hughes Springs’ Blaine Shaw finished 21st with a total of 1,300 pounds.
In the 181-pound division, Troup’s Brett Wells finished 11th with a total of 1,445 pounds. Malakoff’s Hunter Rush finished 15th with a total of 1,390 pounds.
In the 198-pound division, Central’s Gabriel Mendoza finished 14th with a total of 1,540 pounds. Troup’s Juan Salinas finished 17th with a total of 1,475 pounds.
In the 220-pound division, Daingerfield’s Gavin Anglin finished 10th with a total of 1,550 pounds. Hughes Springs’ Billy Prince finished 13th with a total of 1,540 pounds.
In the 242-pound division, Central’s Jeremiah Brecheen finished 10th with a total of 1,500 pounds.
In the 275-pound division, Central’s Alyk Perkins finished 18th with a total of 1,510 pounds. Winona’s Thien Nguyen finished 20th with a total of 1,460 pounds.
In the 308-pound division, Huntington’s Solomon Reid finished eighth with a total of 1,700 pounds. Troup’s Andre’A Dewberry finished 10th with a total of 1,620 pounds.
In the super heavyweight division, Kirbyville’s TJ Roberts finished 10th with a total of 1,530 pounds.
