ABILENE, Texas (KLTV/KTRE) – Lufkin’s Eli Ochoa set three new records and won his division at the Division I state meet for Classes 5A and 6A at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene on Saturday.
Ochoa won the 132-pound division with a total of 1,530 pounds. He squatted 580 pounds, bench pressed 380 pounds and deadlifted 570 pounds, setting records in each of those lifts.
In the 114-pound division, Mount Pleasant’s Jesus Mata finished 13th with a total of 710 pounds.
In the 123-pound division, Hallsville’s Maverick Day finished 16th with a total of 910 pounds.
In the 148-pound division, Tyler Legacy’s Sam Page finished eighth with a total of 1,270 pounds. Tyler Legacy’s Kian Wallace finished 16th with a total of 1,235 pounds. Marshall’s Leo Argote finished 20th with a total of 1,215 pounds.
In the 165-pound division, Mount Pleasant’s Daniel Castillo finished 16th with a total of 1,255 pounds.
In the 220-pound division, Mount Pleasant’s Bruno De Leon finished ninth with a total of 1,585 pounds. Mount Pleasant’s Jose Gonzalez finished 11th with a total of 1,565 pounds.
In the 242-pound division, Tyler High’s James Collier finished ninth with a total of 1,600 pounds. Mount Pleasant’s Isaiah Shepherd finished 15th with a total of 1,495 pounds.
In the 275-pound division, Lufkin’s Alex Trejo finished 15th with a total of 1,500 pounds.
In the 308-pound division, Lufkin’s Antonio Porter finished 14th with a total of 1,380 pounds.
