Blackmore won the Class 6A girls 220-pound title in 2025, and claimed the Class 5A championship in the same division this season with a record-breaking performance.
The Vicksburg junior set a Class 5A record for the 220-pound division with a 170-pound bench press, and totaled 790 pounds across the three techniques. She squatted 315 pounds and got up 305 pounds in the deadlift.
The Missy Gators’ Madyson Brown finished fourth in the girls 242-pound division, but Thomas and Drake brought home state titles in the boys meet after finishing fourth and second, respectively, in 2025.
Thomas won the 308-pound-plus championship with ease by totaling 1,515 pounds — 125 pounds more than runner-up Cordero McDaniel of Brookhaven. Thomas squatted 610 pounds, benched 335, and deadlifted 570. The senior improved his total from last year’s state meet by 140 pounds.
Drake competed in the 181-pound weight class and also dominated his competition. The senior squatted 530 pounds, bench pressed 325, and deadlifted 585 for a totalof 1,440 pounds. Drake’s total was 265 pounds ahead of Brookhaven’s LaDell Nerlson and Pontotoc’s Kyan Robertson, who tied for second place at 1,175 pounds.
