The LBFA, the official local affiliate of the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (IFBB), announced that the delegation will consist of four elite athletes, federation executives, and official media representation.

This mission marks the most structured and comprehensive international outing in the history of Liberian bodybuilding.

The Athletes and Leadership

The athletes selected to represent Team Liberia include Alonso Harmon, Ramsey G. Davies, Jesse Betteh, and Dave Momo.

According to a release from the LBFA the athletes have emerged as the leading figures in the country’s burgeoning fitness scene.

Breaking from past informal participation, the delegation will be led by LBFA executives Adonis M. Gbilwon and Stanley Faijue who roles  will be to provide administrative leadership, athlete support, and official federation representation during the high-level proceedings in Abidjan.

Further professionalizing the tour, Liberian female photographer Sally Conteh has been designated as the official media for the team.

Conteh is tasked with documenting the historic debut to enhance Liberia’s visual presence on the global bodybuilding stage.

A Legacy of Credibility

Speaking on the significance of the upcoming trip, LBFA President Junda Morris described the development as a deeply symbolic moment for the nation.

“This moment is deeply personal and historic for Liberia. For the first time, we are not just sending athletes we are sending a complete national delegation with leadership, structure, and professional media representation,” Morris stated. “This is about legacy, credibility, and showing the world that Liberia belongs on the global bodybuilding stage.”

West African Powerhouse Event

The IFBB Mister Equinox International Championship is regarded as one of West Africa’s premier bodybuilding events, attracting elite competitors and high-ranking federation officials from across the region.

Liberia’s formal participation signals an advancement in athlete development and international exposure under the IFBB framework.

The LBFA noted that this move aligns with broader efforts to create sustainable pathways for Liberian athletes to secure sponsorships and build professional careers within the fitness industry.

Sports analysts suggest that the debut at Mister Equinox reflects Liberia’s growing commitment to sports diversification and youth empowerment beyond the traditional focus on football.

With this historic trip, the LBFA aims to solidify Liberia’s status within the global bodybuilding community and open doors for future international invitations.
