The 61st edition of Joe Weider’s Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend took place this past weekend in Las Vegas. The event features the highly coveted Mr. Olympia competition, with top bodybuilders from around the world competing for the title. This year, Derek Lunsford came out on top.
In a dramatic upset, Lunsford, 32, took home $600,000 along with the prestigious Sandow trophy, Generation Iron reports.

He joins Jay Cutler as only the second bodybuilder in history to regain the Mr. Olympia title after previously losing it. Lunsford had first earned the title in 2023 and came in third last year.
It’s shaping up to be a fruitful 2025 for Lunsford, who also saw victories at the Arnold Classic and Pittsburgh Pro this year.
Hadi Choopan finished as runner-up once again, sparking disappointment among many fans. Andrew Jacked, one of the most improved bodybuilders of the year, took third place. Samson Dauda, last year’s champion, came in fourth.
