The 23-year-old former GB ice hockey star finished fourth in the novice category at Sunday’s (June 20) Southern qualifiers in Bognor having only started taking the sport seriously ten months ago.
It means he progresses to the British finals in Glasgow in September, but Marashi admits he might wait a little while before he restarts his strict dietary regime of egg whites and tuna.
“I’ve been on a fast food binge ever since. MacDonalds and Pizza Hut never tasted so good,” he said.
“It feels so good to have done well and qualified. A lot of the competitors were far more experience than me and the judges admitted it was a very close competition.
“I still feel like there is a lot of potential there to be even better.”
