Bodybuilder and actress Jayne Trcka best known for her role as Miss Mann in Scary Movie has died at the age of 62.
Trcka was found unresponsive in her San Diego home after a friend tried to reach out to the actress out of concern but failed to connect with her even after making multiple calls, according to TMZ.
The friend went to check on her and discovered her body in the kitchen before calling emergency services. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
Trcka’s son reportedly confirmed to TMZ that she passed away on December 12.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner has also confirmed her death stating that the cause remains pending.
Her family has said she was not known to have any medical conditions or illnesses at the time of her death.
Before entering the entertainment industry Trcka was a successful competitive bodybuilder throughout the 1980s.
Her physique and fitness career led to appearances in major fitness publications including Flex, MuscleMag International, and Women’s Physique World.
She made her acting debut in 2000 with a role in the comedy hit Scary Movie where she portrayed Miss Mann.
The appearance opened the door to further television work including roles on The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Outside of acting and fitness Trcka also worked as a real estate agent in California.
Fans have started to pour in tributes online remembering her as both a trailblazer in women’s bodybuilding and a memorable presence on screen.
Her death remains under investigation with officials expected to release further details once the medical examiner’s report is complete.
