LOS ANGELES, California — Jayne Trcka, a veteran bodybuilder and actress best known for a memorable role in the hit comedy “Scary Movie,” has died at 62, USA Today reported.
Her body was discovered in her San Diego home last month, according to TMZ.
TMZ reported a close friend of Trcka became concerned after days without contact and went to her house, where she was found unresponsive in her kitchen. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene, and the San Diego County Medical Examiner has said the official cause of death remains under investigation.
Trcka rose to public attention with a supporting role as Miss Mann, the gym teacher in the 2000 horror spoof “Scary Movie,” which parodied contemporary slasher films. Her on-screen presence alongside stars such as Anna Faris helped her become a recognizable character actress.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Trcka began weight training in the mid‑1980s and went on to compete in bodybuilding shows before transitioning into entertainment. She appeared in fitness magazines like Flex and MuscleMag International and later took roles in television series including “The Drew Carey Show” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”
Outside of performing, Trcka became a certified personal trainer and later worked as a real estate agent in California, where she lived until her death.
