New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion hosts bodybuilding contest

Thousands of athletes and spectators from across the country gathered to witness and participate in a celebration of strength, dedication, and the rich history of bodybuilding.

The NABBA North West show is renowned as a qualifier for the NABBA Britain finals, marking it as a significant milestone in the amateur bodybuilding calendar.

This year’s event showcased a diverse array of talent, with competitors vying for top honours in various categories, including Men’s Bodybuilding, Women’s Bikini, and Miss Trained Figure. The competition was fierce, reflecting the high standards and dedication of the athletes involved.

Participants had the unique opportunity to be inducted into the NABBA Hall of Fame, a testament to the federation’s storied history. NABBA has been the platform where legendary bodybuilders, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, began their illustrious careers. The event was a nod to this legacy, blending traditional bodybuilding values with modern flair.

In a playful homage to political slogans, some staff members sported red caps emblazoned with ‘Make NABBA Great Again’. This light hearted gesture underscored the team’s commitment to revitalising the federation while honouring its rich traditions and history.

The event’s success was the culmination of a year’s hard work by the NABBA North West team.

Area Representative, Tim Rosiek, expressed his pride in the event’s success and announced plans to make the 2026 show even more spectacular.

He said: “We’ve worked tirelessly to bring NABBA into the modern day while holding to the high old-school standards that bodybuilding began with.”

Rachel Faye, from Nologo Creative, who spearheaded the media and marketing efforts for the event, shared her enthusiasm.

She said: “We wanted to bring NABBA back to life. Today, we’ve heard people saying NABBA isn’t making a comeback—it’s already made its comeback.

“We’re thrilled beyond belief and can’t thank the athletes, staff, and spectators enough.

“A massive thanks also to the Floral Pavilion and their staff for their warm hospitality and support. It was an incredible venue to host the Nabba Northwest show, especially as the weather was glorious and the views were incredible”
