THE World Powerlifting Union (WPU) World Championships will take place in Coventry later this month from November 27 to 29.
Some of the sport’s most talented lifters, coaches, families and supporters will head to the city for three days of international competition.
The event will take place at the Royal Court Hotel and will feature a range of lifting categories including full power, single lifts, overhead press and strict curl.
A spokesperson from the British Powerlifting Federation (BPF) said: “We are looking forward to welcoming lifters, teams and supporters to Coventry for what promises to be an exciting championship weekend.
“A world championship on home soil is a special occasion for British lifters and a fantastic opportunity to showcase the sport to a wider audience.”
Athletes are entering the final stages of preparation as they refine training plans, select opening attempts and prepare for competition day.
Local clubs and supporters will also play an important role in building the atmosphere around the event.
