Romanian Bodybuilding Federation President Gabriel Toncean re-elected IFBB Executive Director

Gabriel Toncean, president of the Romanian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (FRCF), has been re-elected Executive Director of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) during the governing body’s World Congress held in Spain.
‘Romania continues to be represented at the highest level in the leadership of world bodybuilding and fitness. Today, at the Congress of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB), held in Spain, I was honoured to receive the trust and support of representatives from 102 countries, who entrusted me with another four-year term as IFBB Executive Director,’ Toncean said in a statement on his official social media page.
Toncean said the new term represents the recognition of the work, professionalism and commitment he has shown over the years within the international federation.
‘For me, this reconfirmation represents more than a professional achievement. It is the recognition of work built over time, with seriousness, commitment and respect for the people alongside whom I have worked. I am proud to be Romanian and to be able to represent Romania in a sports organisation of such international stature,’ the IFBB Executive Director added.
In his message, Toncean thanked IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja for his support, as well as the entire team of the Romanian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, including athletes, coaches and partners.
He also expressed special gratitude to his family for its support, despite the personal sacrifices required by such high-level activity.
Looking ahead to the new term, Toncean said he is determined to continue projects aimed at developing the sport globally, supporting the athlete community and strengthening institutional cooperation among affiliated national federations.
‘An official position is an honour. The trust placed in you by those who appoint you is a responsibility. And results are what should speak for you. We move forward, with respect for the past, responsibility for the present and confidence in the future,’ he concluded. AGERPRES (RO – writing by: Dorina Matis; EN – writing by: Simona Klodnischi)
