Dennis James warns: Walker should be afraid of Hadi!

Nick Walker has achieved the triumph of his life! After winning Mr. Olympia 2026, the American bodybuilder is preparing for his next big challenge: the 2027 Arnold Classic. According to the legendary Dennis James, however, he definitely shouldn’t underestimate one particular opponent. Hadi Choopan skipped the Olympia this year, and according to James, it’s precisely this extended break from competition that could make him the most dangerous opponent!

Nick Walker is the king of bodybuilding. But a tough battle awaits him at the Arnold Classic!

This year, Nick Walker finally achieved what he’d been dreaming of since the start of his professional career. At Mr. Olympia 2026, he was in fantastic shape, defeated the world’s absolute best, and won the prestigious Sandow Trophy for the first time. However, the American bodybuilder nicknamed “The Mutant” has no intention of resting on his laurels. He’s already planning his next competition appearance at the 2027 Arnold Classic, which will take place in early March in Columbus, Ohio.

And the competition will be exceptionally strong! Among the expected participants are Andrew Jacked, Samson Dauda, and former Mr. Olympia Hadi Choopan.

According to Dennis James, however, it is the latter who could pose the greatest threat to Walker!

In a recent episode of The Menace Podcast, the former professional bodybuilder and respected commentator explained why he expects a showdown between two exceptionally muscular competitors.

Nick Walker

“If I were in Nick’s shoes, I’d be very worried about Hadi!”

During the interview, Dennis James pointed out a key fact that could significantly influence the results of the upcoming Arnold Classic. Hadi Choopan was unable to compete in this year’s Mr. Olympia due to visa and travel issues to the United States.

While his biggest competitors went through a grueling competition season, the Iranian bodybuilder thus gained more time to rest and prepare.

And that’s exactly where James sees his biggest advantage!

“If I were Nick, I’d be very worried about Hadi. Hadi is well-rested,” James pointed out .

He also pointed out that Walker has only managed to beat Choopan on the competition stage once. That happened at the 2026 Arnold Classic, where Walker took second place, while the former champion finished third. According to James, however, Choopan wasn’t in his best possible shape at the time. Even so, he managed to beat most of the other competitors and reaffirmed that he is among the most dangerous bodybuilders today.

So if he competes in peak condition at the 2027 Arnold Classic, James believes he could seriously complicate Walker’s path to victory!

Is Andrew Jacked Making a Mistake? James Criticizes His Decision!

Dennis James didn’t focus solely on Walker and Choopan during the interview, however. He also had some fairly critical remarks about Andrew Jacked’s decision to defend his title at the 2027 Arnold Classic. Let’s recall that Jacked won this year’s event in Columbus and took home a record prize of $750,000. According to James, however, preparing for another competition after such a grueling season could be problematic.

“I think it’s a mistake for Andrew to return to the stage so soon,” James said.

His main concern is, above all, insufficient time for recovery and preparing for a new competition physique. James pointed out that while Walker has recently demonstrated several times his ability to bring a high-quality physique to various competitions, Jacked, in his view, has not yet shown that same level of consistency. Of course, that doesn’t mean Jacked couldn’t win again.

However, James is convinced that the main battle for the title will likely be between Walker and Choopan.

What about Derek Lunsford? James isn’t too convinced he’ll compete!

Another interesting topic was two-time Mr. Olympia champion Derek Lunsford. He lost his title this year and had to concede defeat to Walker at the world’s most prestigious bodybuilding competition. According to Dennis James, it’s therefore not very likely that Lunsford will decide to compete in the Arnold Classic right at the start of next year.

The reason?

James believes that Lunsford won’t want to risk another defeat so soon after his unsuccessful attempt to defend his Mr. Olympia title. However, this is merely James’s personal assessment, not an official decision by the American bodybuilder. So the big question remains: exactly what will the final field for the upcoming competition look like? One thing is certain, though: it’s already shaping up to be one of the most exciting lineups in recent years.

Will Hadi Choopan return to the very top?

Hadi Choopan is definitely not a competitor to be underestimated. The Iranian bodybuilder won the Mr. Olympia title in 2022 and, two years later, also dominated the Arnold Classic. He is best known for his extreme muscle definition, hardness, and ability to showcase top-notch competition form.

It is precisely these strengths that could play a crucial role in a head-to-head matchup with Nick Walker. Both bodybuilders possess extraordinary muscle mass and are capable of captivating the audience on stage with an incredible level of detail. While Walker will want to confirm his status as the current king of bodybuilding, Choopan has the ideal opportunity to show that, even after a forced break from competition, he still ranks among the best.

Plus, he’s motivated to avenge his loss to Walker at this year’s Arnold Classic.

One thing is certain, though. The 2027 Arnold Classic could feature one of the most thrilling showdowns in recent years!

Will Nick Walker be able to confirm his dominance, or will the well-rested “Persian Wolf” return in the best shape of his life and deprive the reigning Mr. Olympia of another major title?
