BARINGA teen, Bella Taylor-Rose, has been in the sporting spotlight recently after winning the Fisher Award for Sportsperson of the year.
She won the award out of hundreds of people, recognising her incredible achievements within powerlifting and was also nominated for the 2026 Caloundra Community Awards: Young Achiever of the Year Award.
But the awards are the least of her worries as she is now eying a trip across the Pacific Ocean to Las Vegas in the USA.
Prior to her world championships event, she travelled to Victoria on the weekend of September 27-27 to compete in a national competition.
She qualified for the world championships before competing at nationals and will represent Australia at 16 years old and currently holds 11 Australian records.
Bella began her powerlifting journey earlier this year at just 15 years of age after moving away from her body building aspirations.
She has broken all of her 11 records in just this year, one of which is heaviest lifter for a 15 year old in Australian history with a record 315kg across a 110kg squat, 65kg bench press and 142.5kg deadlift.
She balances these incredible achievements, training six days per week all the while still completing year 11 of school at Baringa Secondary College.
Bella has set up a GoFundMe page to help fund the extortionary cost for her trip to the United States.
Also to assist her travel expenses, she and her family are hosting a ‘mega raffle’ which can be found on the Rotary Club of Caloundra Facebook page.
There are over $5,000 in prizes and tickets start at just $10, with the money going directly into supporting her journey.
After the World Championship event, she is aiming to continue her fantastic form, dreaming to compete on the biggest stage, at home in the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.
