Mr. Olympia Nick Walker Torches Quad-Focused Leg Day Workout Ahead of 2027 Arnold Classic

Reigning Mr. Olympia champion Nick Walker reveals his intense leg day workout as he looks to build bigger quads and prepare for another Arnold Classic title.

Nick Walker is wasting no time getting back to work after capturing his first Mr. Olympia title. The 2026 Mr. Olympia champion has already turned his attention to the 2027 Arnold Classic, where he hopes to add another major victory to his resume. In a YouTube video, Walker shared an intense leg day workout focused on building bigger quads, one of the areas he believes still needs improvement despite reaching the top of bodybuilding.

Walker completed an incredible comeback at the 2026 Mr. Olympia, defeating a stacked Men’s Open lineup that included Samson Dauda and Derek Lunsford. After finishing sixth at the 2025 Olympia, “The Mutant” faced plenty of questions about whether he could ever capture the sport’s biggest title. He answered those questions in Las Vegas, earning his first Sandow trophy and establishing himself as the man to beat.

However, Walker has made it clear that winning the Mr. Olympia does not mean he is satisfied with his physique. Rather than taking an extended break, he is continuing to train with the same intensity that helped him reach the top.

In his latest training video, Walker took viewers through a demanding lower-body session that emphasized quad development while also incorporating exercises for the hamstrings and inner thighs.

Nick Walker’s Leg Day Workout:

The workout featured multiple appearances of the leg press, reflecting Walker’s preference for movements that allow him to establish a strong muscle contraction while handling substantial weight.

Although the video did not provide a complete breakdown of sets, repetitions, or weights for every exercise, Walker made it clear that training volume will play a significant role in his approach moving forward.

He also discussed using a pendulum-style machine during the session, admitting that he normally isn’t a fan of the equipment but was impressed with the particular machine he tried.

“I’m usually not a fan of pendulum machines, but this one’s actually pretty good,” Walker said.

Mr. Olympia Nick Walker Reveals Why Bigger Quads Are His Priority

Despite winning the 2026 Mr. Olympia, Walker believes there are still areas of his physique that need improvement before he returns to the stage.

When discussing his goals, he identified additional quad size as his biggest priority, while also acknowledging that his back could benefit from more thickness and width.

“More leg. More quad. Definitely more quad. I think just more back thickness, probably a little more width I could probably use too, but specifically probably quads for sure.”

The reigning Mr. Olympia champion revealed that he is not particularly interested in using leg extensions, an exercise commonly incorporated into bodybuilding workouts to isolate the quadriceps.

Instead, Walker prefers compound movements that allow him to feel his quads working throughout each repetition.

“I’m not a fan of leg extensions. That’s just me. So, I’ll probably just load up on leg press and hack squats. Just sets on sets on sets.”

His approach highlights the importance of selecting exercises based on individual muscle engagement rather than simply following a conventional bodybuilding routine.

Throughout the workout, Walker pushed through several demanding sets with encouragement from his training partners. At one point, he even remarked that he felt stronger than he had during the previous week’s leg session.

The intensity was particularly notable considering how recently Walker had competed at the Mr. Olympia.

Nick Walker Prepares for Another Arnold Classic Showdown

Walker’s decision to compete at the 2027 Arnold Classic creates another highly anticipated showdown in the Men’s Open division.

The event is scheduled for March 4-7 in Columbus, Ohio, and Walker is expected to face familiar rivals, including Samson Dauda and Andrew Jacked.

Jacked defeated Walker at the 2026 Arnold Classic, collecting the event’s massive $750,000 first-place prize. Walker finished second before eventually turning the tables on his competition at the Mr. Olympia later in the year.

The upcoming Arnold Classic will give Walker another opportunity to prove himself against some of the best bodybuilders in the world, this time entering the competition as the reigning Mr. Olympia champion.
