After winning the Mr. Olympia title, Nick Walker has no intention of taking a break. In an October 12 video, the Men’s Open star broke down his quad-focused leg day workout ahead of the 2027 Arnold Classic.
Walker defied the odds to secure his first Sandow trophy at the 2026 Mr. Olympia. All year, he was told that his rivals would have to be off for him to win. However, “The Mutant” took out an improved Derek Lunsford and Samson Dauda to capture gold. Instead of committing to an off-season or taking a rest, Walker is jumping right back into the fire.
He confirmed his entry for the 2027 Arnold Classic, where he’ll rematch Dauda and fourth-place Olympia finisher Andrew Jacked. At the 2026 Arnold Classic, Jacked actually defeated Walker to earn a life-changing $750,000 winner’s purse. With another massive payday on the line, Walker is keeping training intensity as high as possible.

During the leg workout, Walker explained that forcing quad growth was his top priority. He shared that he doesn’t use the leg extension machine and prefers movements where he feels the contraction best:
“More leg, more quad, definitely more quad. I think just more back thickness, probably a little more width I could probably use too. But, specifically, probably quads, for sure. For me, that’s just going to be doing a shit-ton of movements that I know I contract with the best. I’m not a fan of leg extensions; that’s just me. So, I’ll probably just load up on the leg press and hack squats. Sets on sets on sets.”
If Walker wants a second Arnold Classic title, he’ll have a tough lineup to get through. Chris Aceto, Andrew Jacked’s coach, recently laid out their game plan. Aceto believes that dryness is what held Jacked back at the Olympia, and with a slight correction, he could see him vying for gold when they all rematch.
Walker isn’t holding back since becoming the Mr. Olympia. Don’t miss his next performance at the 2027 Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio, from March 4-7.
