HYDERABAD: Dr Perumalla Pradeep Kumar, a retired Accounts Officer of the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate, has won three gold medals in an international powerlifting championship in Karaganda, Kazakhstan.
Kumar represented India at the championship. The latest achievement adds to his record on the international powerlifting circuit.
The specific categories and lifting figures from the Kazakhstan event could not be independently verified from an official published result sheet. They have therefore not been included.

Kumar earlier won silver at Cairo World Cup
Earlier this year, Kumar won a silver medal in the Masters category at the Powerlifting World Cup in Cairo, Egypt.
He competed in the 82.5 kg category and recorded a total lift of 400 kg. The World Powerlifting Congress protocol lists him in the Masters 60-64 category and records the same 400 kg total.
A March 2026 report by Point News said Kumar finished second in the 82.5 kg category. The report also noted his earlier service as an Accounts Officer in the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate.
Malkajgiri police chief congratulates Kumar
Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B. Sumathi, IPS, congratulated Kumar on his latest achievement.
The commissionerate’s official website lists Sumathi as the Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri.
Kumar has continued competing internationally after retiring from government service. His Cairo performance also received recognition in Telangana.
Telangana Sports and Youth Services Minister Vakiti Srihari felicitated Kumar in Hyderabad in March.
