2026 Olympia: Men’s 212 Preview: Keone Pearson Looks to Win Fourth Consecutive Title in Las Vegas
The 2026 Olympia is nearly here, and the Men’s 212 division will once again feature one of the most intriguing championship battles of the weekend.
The Olympia is scheduled for Sept. 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and reigning 212 Olympia champion Keone Pearson enters with an opportunity to extend his run at the top of the division. Pearson has won three consecutive Olympia titles since taking the crown for the first time in 2023.
Two-time champion Shaun Clarida remains one of his biggest threats, while Nihat Kaya returns after an impressive fourth-place Olympia finish last year. The division also welcomes a fascinating newcomer in two-time Classic Physique Olympia champion Breon Ansley.
Here is what to know about the 2026 Men’s 212 Olympia.
What Is the Men’s 212 Division?
The Men’s 212 division features many of the same judging standards and mandatory poses as Men’s Open bodybuilding, but competitors must weigh no more than 212 pounds. Athletes are judged on a combination of muscularity, conditioning, symmetry, proportions, and overall presentation.
Keone Pearson Chases His Fourth Straight Olympia Title
The road to the 212 Olympia title continues to go through Keone Pearson.
Pearson captured his first Olympia championship in 2023 and has not relinquished the title since. He successfully defended the crown in 2024 before completing the three-peat at the 2025 Olympia in Las Vegas.
Pearson’s combination of shape, proportions, muscle fullness, and an extremely tight waist has made him difficult to beat in the 212 division. He also possesses the size needed to fill out his frame without sacrificing the aesthetic qualities that have become his trademark.
After last year’s Olympia, Pearson even tested himself in Men’s Open. He entered the 2025 EVLS Prague Pro and finished fourth against a lineup that included Michal Krizanek, Samson Dauda, and Martin Fitzwater.
Now, Pearson returns to the 212 Olympia with history on the line. A victory in Las Vegas would give him four consecutive championships and further cement his place among the greatest 212 competitors of all time.
Shaun Clarida Remains Keone Pearson’s Biggest Rival
If anyone in the field knows what it takes to win the 212 Olympia, it is Shaun Clarida.
“The Giant Killer” won the Olympia in 2020 and again in 2022 before Pearson began his current championship run. Clarida pushed Pearson once again in 2025 but ultimately settled for second place.
Clarida has also continued to prove that his physique translates against much larger competitors.
Following the Olympia, Clarida won the 2025 Japan Pro in Men’s Open, earning qualification for the 2026 Mr. Olympia Open division as well. He later secured his 212 qualification, leaving him qualified for both divisions. Clarida has publicly expressed interest in competing in both if he were permitted to do so.
His calling card remains his combination of muscle density and conditioning. Despite being one of the shorter athletes onstage, Clarida routinely appears significantly larger because of the amount of muscle packed onto his frame.
If Clarida brings his trademark conditioning to Las Vegas, another showdown with Pearson could be waiting.
Nihat Kaya Looks to Build on Breakout Olympia Performance
Nihat Kaya emerged as one of the biggest names to watch in the division following his 2025 Olympia debut.
The young Turkish bodybuilder finished fourth at last year’s Olympia and has continued building momentum in 2026. Kaya won the Mr. Big Evolution Portugal Pro in July, securing another victory in the 212 ranks.
Kaya brings impressive lower-body development, muscle fullness, and considerable width to the stage. His fourth-place finish in his first Olympia appearance immediately established him as a contender capable of challenging the established names in the division.
With another year of progress behind him, Kaya will attempt to move into the Olympia Top 3.
Breon Ansley Brings a New Look to 212
Perhaps no competitor adds more intrigue to this year’s lineup than Breon Ansley.
Ansley is already an Olympia champion, winning the Classic Physique title in 2017 and 2018 before Chris Bumstead began his historic run. After years competing in Classic, Ansley officially announced his move to Men’s 212 earlier this year.
The transition immediately paid off.
Ansley made his 212 debut at the 2026 World of Monsterzym Asian Pro Championships in August and won the contest, defeating Mazin Al Rahbi and Guangyi Dou to earn his Olympia qualification.
The biggest question is how Ansley’s physique will compare with athletes who have spent years building specifically for the 212 division. Ansley already possesses elite proportions, conditioning, posing, and Olympia experience. Now, he can carry additional muscle without being constrained by the height-and-weight requirements of Classic Physique.
His first 212 Olympia appearance will be one of the division’s biggest storylines.
Other 212 Olympia Contenders to Watch
The depth extends well beyond the former Olympia champions.
Lucas Garcia finished third at the 2025 Olympia, placing behind Pearson and Clarida and establishing himself as one of the division’s top contenders.
Angel Calderon Frias brings years of experience competing among the world’s best 212 athletes and earned his 2026 qualification with a victory at the Empro Classic Spain Pro.
Courage Opara has also put together an impressive season. Opara won the 212 division at the 2026 Tampa Pro and followed it with another victory at the Texas Pro.
Radoslav Angelov, Zhaofeng He, Vitor Alves Porto De Oliveira, and several other international standouts add even more depth to a lineup where making the first callout will be difficult.

2026 Men’s 212 Olympia Outlook
The 212 Olympia has a clear champion to beat, but there are plenty of questions surrounding the athletes chasing him.
Pearson has not lost the 212 Olympia since winning his first title in 2023 and will attempt to make it four straight. Clarida remains a two-time champion with the muscle density and conditioning to push him, while Garcia and Kaya will attempt to build upon Top 4 finishes from last year.
Then there is Ansley, an Olympia champion entering an entirely new division with little time wasted proving that he belongs.
The 212 Olympia has traditionally produced some of the closest battles of Olympia weekend. With an established three-time champion, a two-time champion attempting to regain the throne, several rising contenders, and a former Classic Physique Olympia winner joining the mix, the 2026 contest has all the ingredients for another memorable showdown.
