Heidelberg-based fitness athlete Pauline Bouzer is making her mark on the national fitness and modelling circuit after securing a national title and three podium finishes in two major competitions.
Bouzer, who is based in Overkruin, Heidelberg, was crowned the winner of the Female Fitness Physique category for women aged 34 to 55 at the Next Opulent Model South Africa 2026 competition on August 20.
The victory was followed by another impressive performance at the UIBFF Insanely Sane Africa Cup bodybuilding show on August 22, where Bouzer claimed second place in Bikini Fitness, second place in Glamour Line Up and third place in Natural Bikini.
Her performances have opened further opportunities, with Bouzer receiving a personal invitation to compete alongside professional athletes at an event in Klerksdorp on October 10.
She is also setting her sights on the Pro Show Qualifier in Cape Town on November 28, as she continues to build her competitive career.
Bouzer said the recent success is the result of discipline and perseverance while balancing motherhood, employment and entrepreneurship.
“Being a single mother of three, juggling my part-time work schedule and starting my own business, Pole-ine Fitness, was a marathon of consistency and discipline,” she said. “I am extremely grateful for this new position and excited about the new opportunities that will arise from it.”
Bouzer said competing at national level comes with significant financial commitments, including competition fees, travel, accommodation and other expenses.
“These events are very costly, and I am currently not in a position to afford the trip, accommodation and everything that comes along with the events. I’m appealing to individuals, businesses and potential sponsors who may be able to assist as I prepare for the upcoming competitions.”
She encouraged women interested in fitness modelling to enter the Next Opulent Model South Africa competition next year, adding that people should try a class to overcome any preconceived ideas about the sport.
