Arunachal Pradesh athletes made the state proud at the 2nd Mr Northeast Bodybuilding & Physique Championship 2026, held at Kohima, Nagaland from September 11 to 12.
The championship witnessed participation of 69 athletes from across the Northeast region, with 16 athletes representing Arunachal Pradesh.
Leading the state’s medal tally, Diamalu Brahma clinched the gold medal in Men’s Physique category, while Niaimun Mara secured gold in Model Physique category.
In the Bodybuilding segment, the state secured four silver medals — Leyu Kiojak Guha finished second in the 55 kg category, Bijoy Sarkar bagged second position in the 60 kg category, Wemu Tulang clinched second positing in the 70kg category and Tarh Peter secured second place in the 75 kg category.
Other Arunachal athletes also delivered commendable performances with top finishes. Raj Rabha finished in the Top 4 in the above 80 kg category, Lokam Bhai secured Top 4 position in the 60 kg category, Yarda Dakio finished Top 5 in the 55 kg category and Tarh Tapo secured Top 5 in Men’s Physique.
The Arunachal contingent’s overall performance, with two gold medals and three silvers among top finishes, marks a strong showing for the state at the regional championship.
