Three local powerlifters competed at a United States Powerlifting Association competition in Bozeman last month. Two of them set new state records for their weight class during the Aug. 15 event.
Courtney Ruzick set a new squat record at the 165-pound class with 380 pounds. She also benched 170 pounds and deadlifted 358.
Tia Goetsch set new state records in three events for the 240-pound class. She squated 160 pounds, benched 187 and deadlifted 204.
Justin Maier was also in action, but didn’t break any records for the 20-23-year-old, 198-pound class. He finished the meet with a 452-pound squat, 286-pound bench and 460.5-pound deadlift.
Lewistown will play host to a power lifting competition at Lions Den Gym on April 17, 2027.
