Hyderabad: City-based powerlifters Ajay Banerjee and S. Vanisha Rao have qualified to compete in the World Powerlifting Championships, to be held in Manchester, UK, from September 10 to 14.
Banerjee will compete in the Masters category, while Vanisha Rao will participate in the Teen-2 category.
The duo left for Manchester from Shamshabad Airport on Monday. Telangana State Powerlifting Association president Inturi Rekha, along with fellow athletes, wished them success and gave them a warm send-off.
