Table tennis, powerlifting and bowling teams recognized along with Earth Sciences Olympiad medalists
KUWAIT: Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr Tareq Al-Jalahma on Sunday honored a group of athletes and students who represented Kuwait successfully at international events, at a reception attended by their families and supervisors.
Bowling players Sharifa Iskandar and Fahad Al-Saqabi honored after winning various medals.

Al-Jalahma affirmed that the Public Authority for Youth and Sports will continue supporting Kuwaiti youth in the sports and scientific fields to help them achieve further success. He stressed the importance of providing a suitable environment to develop their skills and motivate them toward accomplishments that reflect Kuwait’s positive image internationally.
The reception reflects the authority’s commitment to supporting national talents and encouraging continued excellence, the minister said, while highlighting the role of the family in supporting Kuwaiti youth toward further achievements.
Those honored included Kuwait’s table tennis team, which won several medals at the Women’s West Asia Championship in Jordan, and the national powerlifting team, which took a silver medal at the World Powerlifting Championships in South Africa.
The Kuwait bowling team was also honored for its performances in Asian competitions, where it won a number of medals and strengthened Kuwait’s standing in the sport.
Students from the Ministry of Education were honored as well for their participation in the International Earth Sciences Olympiad in Turin, Italy, where they won eight medals, boosting Kuwait’s standing in international academic competitions. — KUNA
