A train pull challenge will see a powerlifting world-record holder attempt to move a 12–16 tonne steam train and carriages uphill—all in the name of raising funds for a breast cancer charity.
Kamaldeep (Kam) Wallis, safeguarding and security manager at c2c Railway and the world-record holder in powerlifting for the International All-Round Weightlifting Association (IAWA), will attempt the feat at the Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway in Kent on September 16.
She will pull the 12–16 tonne steam train and carriages uphill as part of Lady McAdden’s “50 People, 50 Incredible Acts” campaign, which marks the charity’s 50th anniversary with 50 individual fundraising challenges.

Ms Wallis said: “I’m incredibly proud to be taking on this challenge for such an important cause. This is about women supporting women, pushing boundaries, sharing stories, and raising vital funds to help people affected by breast cancer.
“If you’re free, please come along and cheer me on – and every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference.”
Lady McAdden is an Essex-based charity that provides breast cancer advice, education, and support before, during, and after diagnosis.
The campaign is part of c2c Railway’s ongoing support for the charity, which recently included a fundraising event at Leigh-on-Sea station and the installation of a Big Pink Bra Bin, allowing the public to donate unwanted bras in support of Lady McAdden’s services.
Kam joined c2c’s Revenue Protection and Security team in September 2025 after nearly 21 years with the British Transport Police. She began strongwoman training in July 2024 and was later named the second Strongest Female Officer.
