Nick Walker’s 2026 Tampa Pro victory is still rippling through the bodybuilding community. In an August 11 video, Samir Bannout predicted “The Mutant” to be in the winner’s circle at the upcoming 2026 Mr. Olympia.
Walker was forced to make up significant ground in the Men’s Open after a disappointing end to his 2025 season. While he pushed Derek Lunsford at the Pittsburgh Pro, he narrowly lost after a sudden-death tie-breaker round. He earned his way back to Olympia with a dominant win at the New York Pro. However, he mistimed his peak in Vegas when it mattered most.
Ultimately, he settled for a sixth-place finish, leaving fans unsure of his next move. In March, he jumped into the 2026 Arnold Classic and claimed silver behind Andrew Jacked (Chinedu Andrew Obiekea). The performance gave Walker a confidence boost, which he leveraged in Tampa to earn his Olympia qualification. Looking ahead, Bannout is adamant that “The Mutant” could find himself fighting for gold in his next outing.
Samir Bannout Says Nick Walker’s Critics Are Making Him Stronger Ahead of 2026 Mr. Olympia
During the latest Muscle Maturity Podcast, Bannout stressed that Walker’s critics have only made him stronger ahead of Olympia:
“Some people say he’s this and now that. People are very good at trying to knock you down. All of these things are making him stronger… It’s making him believe. The only thing that I saw about Nick Walker that wasn’t good was he needs to tan his face a little bit more.”
He predicted Walker would be in the winner’s circle at the Olympia ‘without a doubt’:
“I really predict that he’s definitely in the winner’s circle without a doubt.”
“He’s a warrior. I am really happy for him. Honestly, I predicted it, and yeah, he’s going to be in the winner’s circle at the Olympia, whether they like it or not. All these people that’s running their mouths talking trash about Nick… I kind of don’t like those negative bullshitters. I can’t stand people who are negative.”
Additionally, Bannout addressed Walker’s midsection criticism, adding that his waist looks smaller and his abs look more visible.
“Nick Walker is not a Steve Reeves. His body is Nick Walker’s body. His midsection, they complained about, his stomach. Look at this, his waist is smaller, his abs look clearer, he came out there, was confident, and he won the show [in Tampa] deservedly without any complaint.”
Bodybuilding veterans have been vocal about Walker’s chances at the sport’s biggest show. According to Jay Cutler, Walker can win the Sandow trophy this year. However, he warned that Lunsford and Samson Dauda could present fresher looks since they’ve had time to rest their bodies.
Bannout refuses to count out Nick Walker ahead of his fourth appearance on the prestigious stage. The 2026 Mr. Olympia takes place from September 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
