Itanagar, August 24: Arunachal Pradesh athlete Hillang Yajik has brought pride to the state after being selected to represent India at the 58th Asian Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship 2026.
According to the Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF), Yajik has been named to Team IBBF for the championship, scheduled to be held from September 22 to 28, 2026, in Bangkok, Thailand.
She will compete in the Senior Women Model Physique up to 165 cm and Women One Piece Swimsuit up to 165 cm categories.
Yajik has previously won gold in the Women’s Model Physique up to 155 cm category at the South Asian Championships in Thimphu, Bhutan. She also secured gold at the Federation Cup and has won the Miss Fitness Arunachal Pradesh title multiple times.
Her selection for the Asian championship marks a significant milestone for Arunachal Pradesh and highlights the growing presence of athletes from the state in bodybuilding and physique sports at the international level.
