A popular Mr. Olympia bodybuilder and Navy veteran has died at the age of 40. Dwayne Quamina, known as “King Q,” passed away suddenly on Sunday, the Trinidad Express reported. He finished sixth at the Atlanta Pro competition just one week earlier. No cause of death has been released at the time of writing.
Quamina competed at the highest level of bodybuilding. His best finish at Mr. Olympia came in 2018 when he placed 10th, an achievement he boasted on his social media profiles. The Trinidad and Tobago native later settled in California and worked as an online coach. He leaves behind his wife Leah and their children.

Just last month, Quamina posted a now-haunting message to his 114,000 Instagram followers.
“Stop taking life for granted go all the way and have zero regrets when it’s all over!” he wrote.

Five days before his death, he added another note about resilience.
“If it was easy, everybody would do it. The best quality you can have is the ability to pick yourself up and go again no matter how many times it take. Watch what comes next!”
Tributes poured in from the bodybuilding community. Eight-time Ms. Olympia champion Lenda Murray offered condolences. Fellow competitor Karol Malecki called the news tragic after competing against him only days earlier.

Friends and family described Quamina as a devoted father, loving husband, loyal friend, and proud veteran. A GoFundMe page launched to support his wife and children. Organizers seek help with rent, bills, and daily expenses during this difficult time. Donations have already reached nearly half of the $20,000 goal.
The loss leaves a deep void for those who knew him. Quamina inspired many through his dedication and strength both on and off the stage.
