The World Powerlifting Championships for juniors and sub-juniors (IPF World Sub-Junior & Junior Powerlifting Championships) kicked off on August 18 in Sun City, South Africa. More than 420 athletes from 60 countries representing five continents are participating in this event, including six athletes from Mongolia.
On the first day of the competition, Bayarjargal Bayarmaa achieved victory, winning gold in each of the three disciplines in the junior category up to 53 kg. He showcased outstanding results, lifting 180 kg in squats, 110 kg in bench press, and 215 kg in deadlift, securing first place in each discipline and overall.
This victory made Bayarjargal the first Mongolian athlete to win the overall title at the junior world championships, highlighting his remarkable achievements in this sport.
