Nick Walker’s confidence is growing ahead of the 2026 Mr. Olympia. In an August 18 video, he revealed that if he can control his midsection onstage, he’ll be unbeatable in Las Vegas.
Walker resurrected his momentum in the Men’s Open after falling to sixth place at the 2025 Olympia. He bounced back with a standout performance at the 2026 Arnold Classic, where he pushed Andrew Jacked (Chinedu Andrew Obiekea) en route to a silver medal finish.
To earn his way back to the Mr. Olympia, Walker dominated the Tampa Pro and displayed strong midsection control, especially between poses. Many believe if he follows a similar formula, he’ll find success against the best in the world in under six weeks.
Nick Walker Says Tighter Waist ‘Main Objective’ at 2026 Mr. Olympia
During the interview, Walker emphasized that his main goal for the Mr. Olympia is bringing a tighter waist. He also wants to showcase more detail in his back and chest without losing leg fullness.
“For me, obviously, I definitely want to keep bringing the waist in tighter. That’s the main objective, for me. I definitely want to bring a little more detail to my back. I think that’s just a fullness thing. Same thing with chest, and just keep my legs as full as they can be without losing them.”
Should he present these improvements onstage, Walker believes he can’t be beaten:
“I think with all that combined, with what I just said about being harder and drier, there’s no reason why I can’t take that Sandow.”
“It’s always playing my own game. Once I play my own game, and perfect everything the judges want me to perfect, I can’t be beaten.”
Content with his size and conditioning, the Men’s Open star accepts that midsection control will determine his fate.
“I have size. No one is going to beat me in the size department. I have condition. Someone might tie me in that, good luck, but it is what it is. As long as I control my midsection, again, I can’t be beat,” shared Nick Walker.
The bodybuilding community favors Walker’s chances before the ‘Super Bowl of Bodybuilding.’ Former four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler believes “The Mutant” can emerge victorious. Meanwhile, head judge Steve Weinberger labeled him a top-five threat looking ahead.
Walker understands that how he presents his waist onstage could be the difference between gold and the second callout. The 2026 Mr. Olympia will take place from September 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
