Kalyan: Powerlifter Netra Phadke, who won three gold medals at the National Powerlifting Championship 2026 held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, was felicitated by the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party for her remarkable achievement.
Phadke secured gold medals in the junior category in all three disciplines: bench press, squatting and deadlift. She also won the National Strongwoman title twice, adding another milestone to her sporting career.
Recognising her achievement, Shiv Sena deputy leader Vijay Salvi visited her residence and felicitated her with a shawl, coconut, bouquet, citation and a cheque of Rs 5,000.
Phadke has previously won several accolades in powerlifting and is now preparing to represent the country at international competitions. Her success has drawn appreciation from various quarters, with sports enthusiasts congratulating her for bringing pride to Kalyan through her outstanding performance.
The felicitation ceremony highlighted the importance of encouraging young athletes and recognising their dedication towards achieving excellence in competitive sports.
