Wesley Vissers believes time is the only thing standing between him and the Olympia title. In an August 12 video, he predicted the first callout at the 2026 Mr. Olympia and said his goal is to win within the next three years.
After a lackluster 2025 bodybuilding season, Vissers turned his luck around. He boosted his leg thickness and definition in the off-season, and leveraged those improvements onstage. “The Dutch Oak” regained momentum with back-to-back wins at the 2026 Arnold Classic Ohio and Detroit Pro.
He had the opportunity to battle Mike Sommerfeld at the Arnold Classic UK. It was a close event, but “Mike the Badass” emerged victorious. Despite the setback, Vissers is confident that he can present an Olympia-winning package looking ahead.
Wesley Vissers Eyes 2026 Olympia Top Five, Says He Can Win the Title Within 3 Years
Wesley Vissers believes the first callout at the 2026 Olympia will feature these names:
His goal is to break into the top five, and he emphasized that conditioning will decide his fate:
“I really want to get into that top five. I want to be compared to those guys. I know all the names I just mentioned; they are conditioned front to back and top to bottom.”
“The only way for me to get into the top five, Tyler himself also mentioned it to me, is that conditioning. If I’m not conditioned enough, even if I’m twice the size, we can’t judge your physique against theirs until you reach the same kind of conditioning. From that moment, then we look at physique comparisons. Then, I think there’s a bigger shot for me to do well at the Olympia.”
While Dino is the current Classic Physique Olympia, Vissers argued Sommerfeld’s shape is “one step above” what the champ can bring:
“I think Mike’s shape at this Arnold UK was his best ever of any shape he’s ever shown, especially with that lighter weight. I did see him when he was up against Chris Bumstead; he was incredible then, but this forced him to dial in even more. His conditioning was undeniable.”
“I think that is one step above what Ramon can do, and Ramon is a lot heavier at this moment and pretty conditioned already. He certainly needs to lose a lot of weight to get in shape,” Wesley Vissers said.
Vissers is adamant that he can win the Olympia within three years.
“In the next three years, I’m very confident I can win the Olympia, for sure, in Classic Physique. I feel great. I feel healthy. I feel like I can do this for a lot longer. I’ve only been learning more about myself, learning how to be a better bodybuilder.”
Bodybuilding veteran Dennis James has been outspoken about Vissers’ chances heading into Vegas. He also suggested that conditioning will heavily influence where he places:
“He needs to be super conditioned. There’s no other way. If Wesley is not 100%, 99% is not enough, he needs to be 100% in order to stand next to the best guys and possibly beat them.”
Vissers understands that leg fullness, detail, and overall conditioning will be the key to his bodybuilding future. The 2026 Mr. Olympia will take place from September 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
