“As Katelynn said, (Sophia) wasn’t the sportiest kind of kid growing up and part of that’s just with her physical disability and she has an intellectual disability as well,” said Faith. “She got to the point where she couldn’t really compete at the same level as her peers. She was swimming and she was dancing and doing other things, but it was now at that point where some gaps were starting to show. So, we thought, ‘let’s give Special Olympics a try.’”
