The event will be held in Horner Hall of the Hot Springs Convention Center with prejudging going from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the finals going from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets will be handled at the door, cash only. It is $30 for prejudging and $45 for the finals.
“It’s a family event that will inspire everyone who attends,” IFBB pro judge and promoter Jack Titone said.
Titone has 30 years of experience in the bodybuilding world as a judge and promoter.
Along with earning national qualifiers, the competitors will also be vying for class medals, overall champion sculptures, weight belts and backpacks according to the Visit Hot Springs website.
The lineup of divisions goes from IFBB Pro Bikini to top-tier amateurs in men’s physique, women’s physique, bodybuilding, bikini, wellness, classic physique, fit model and then finally figure. The different divisions include true novice, novice, open and masters.
True novice is for first-time competitors only. Novice has competitors with little stage experience and no major competition wins. Open is where the unrestricted best of the best compete. Masters is for older competitors, typically in their 40’s or older.
“(There are) lots of inspiring athletes who have transformed their physiques,” Titone said.
The Arkansas State Championships are a unique event to the area because it is the only NPC event in the state of Arkansas.
This will be the third straight year that Hot Springs has hosted the NPC Arkansas State Championships. Titone said the welcoming community has been a big reason why they keep coming back to Spa City for their events.
