Women’s Physique IFBB Pro Sandra Lombardo Passes Away After Battle With Cancer – Fitness Volt

The bodybuilding community is mourning another loss. Women’s Physique standout Sandra Lombardo has passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. The news was first reported by Rx Muscle – Truth in Bodybuilding on July 8, 2026.

Lombardo earned her IFBB Pro card in 2012 and never looked back. She made an immediate impact in the Women’s Physique category thanks to her tight waist, V-taper, and the consistent conditioning she presented onstage. Throughout her career, Lombardo pushed herself against the greatest bodybuilders in the world, appearing at prestigious shows like the Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia

Her passion for training and helping others was on constant display, from challenging workouts to structured diets and physique updates. Details surrounding her cancer diagnosis are limited, but she had a profound and positive impact on those around her.

“It is with deep sadness that we remember Sandra Lombardo, a respected Women’s Physique competitor who proudly graced the stages of both the Olympia and the Arnold Classic.

Beyond her passion for bodybuilding, Sandra had a lifelong love of horses. After a courageous battle with cancer, she leaves behind a legacy of resilience and determination that will never be forgotten,” Rx Muscle – Truth in Bodybuilding shared

Heartbroken fans offered their condolences in the comment section, while others criticized the IFBB Pro League:

“Wow that’s sad. Beautiful woman”

“A great competitor & friend”

“Rip sandy. I’m so happy I had the chance to meet and know you 😢”

“Dying like a flies, first Conner and now her.. same day 🙏”

“Where’s the IFBB showing support to their athletes? Do they make posts? Never, lol. It’s kind of a fucking Joke that these woman and men kill themselves for a sport that they are so easily replaced. I mean according to the IFBB and how they act when even an ex Olympian died(Shawn Rhoden) they didn’t do shit. That’s why the Arnold is becoming more prestigious than the Olympia. Pays more also 😂😂😂”

A growing number of deaths have shaken up the fitness community. The trend has caught the attention of bodybuilding legends, including Arnold Schwarzenegger. He stressed that bodybuilding is among the most dangerous sports in the world. Moreover, former eight-time Mr. Olympia Lee Haney has taken notice. He believes athletes are dying younger in pursuit of drier conditioning.

In one of the latest tragedies, fitness influencer Connor Murphy died in Thailand at just 32. Details surrounding his death remain unclear after his body was recovered from a lake following a suspected drowning incident. 2004 Mr. Universe José Antonio “Jocha” Hernández Torres also just passed away at 57, with no cause of death shared.

Sandra Lombardo left a lasting impact on those around her. Our Fitness Volt team extends our deepest condolences to her friends and family.
