Her Royal Majesty and Chief Executive Officer of Dee Utensils, Ambassador Lois Andrew Ihwo, has congratulated Kingsley James Awodi on his inauguration as President of the Nigeria Para-Powerlifting Federation.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Ihwo described Awodi’s emergence as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by members of the federation, expressing optimism that his leadership would advance the development of para-powerlifting in Nigeria.
She wished the new president a successful tenure, noting that his experience in sports administration positions him to strengthen the federation and promote the growth of the sport.
According to her, Awodi’s leadership is expected to enhance athlete welfare, support talent development and consolidate Nigeria’s position as a leading nation in international para-powerlifting.
Ihwo also commended stakeholders in the federation for what she described as a commitment to sustaining the development of para-sports in the country.
Known for her support for sports development, youth empowerment and community initiatives, Ihwo has sponsored sporting competitions and supported programmes aimed at promoting grassroots talent development.
Responding after his inauguration, Awodi thanked members of the federation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with the National Sports Commission, athletes, coaches, technical officials and development partners to strengthen the federation.
He said his administration would focus on sustaining Nigeria’s competitiveness in global para-powerlifting while implementing initiatives aimed at developing the sport and improving opportunities for athletes across the country
