The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Afghanistan’s national bodybuilding
and fitness team departed for Bhutan on June 28, 2026, to compete in the South
Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship.
The Afghanistan Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation said 15
athletes, accompanied by a three-member delegation, will represent the country
at the regional competition.
According to the federation, the Afghan athletes will
compete in various bodybuilding and fitness weight classes and categories.
The South Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship is
scheduled to begin on June 30, 2026, in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, with
athletes from nearly 10 countries across the region expected to participate.
Afghanistan’s national bodybuilding team has won numerous
gold, silver and bronze medals at Asian and international competitions in
recent years and is regarded as one of the country’s most successful national
sports teams.
