The Executive Board of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has lifted restrictions on Belarusian and Russian athletes in all age categories. The decision takes effect immediately.
Previously, the restrictions had already been lifted for Russian and Belarusian youth and junior weightlifters.
“This decision follows the recent recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) regarding the principles of neutrality in sport and the importance of providing athletes with fair opportunities to compete at the highest international level,” the IWF press service said.
