MINNEAPOLIS, Mn. (KFVS) – Carbondale powerlifter Sheridan Coleman claimed four gold medals at the Special Olympics in Minneapolis, concluding on Friday, June 26.
Coleman won gold medals in the squat, bench press and overall combo. She also claimed bronze in the deadlift.
A couple of Southern Illinois swimmers also made quite a splash in the pool.
Marion’s John Cleveland won gold in the 50-yard butterfly, and Carbondale’s Val Densler claimed silver in the 200-yard freestyle and bronze in the 500 free-style.
