Jordan Hutchinson: A whopping 6,652 calories before the Italy Pro


Open-class bodybuilder Jordan Hutchinson caused quite a stir. While most competitors drastically cut calories a few weeks before a competition, he did the exact opposite. In a recent video, he revealed an unbelievable daily meal plan totaling 6,652 calories—and that was just 14 days before the start of the prestigious Italy Pro 2026!

Hutchinson first made a name for himself in 2025, when he literally burst onto the scene among the Open category’s elite. He scored a fantastic victory at the Tampa Pro, where he defeated names like John Jewett and Quinton Eriya, and subsequently dominated the Texas Pro as well. These triumphs catapulted him to his first Mr. Olympia, where he earned an impressive 12th-place finish on his debut. Now he has a clear goal—to qualify for Mr. Olympia again and climb even higher in the rankings. A hefty calorie load will help him achieve this, and he’ll be taking it with him as he heads straight to Italy.

What exactly does a day on the plate of an elite pro look like during the bulking phase of his preparation? Let’s take a look.

Jordan Hutchinson’s Full-Day Meal Plan Ahead of Italy Pro

Meal 1: A Sweet and Savory Start to the Day

The very first meal of the day is literally a powerhouse of energy. Hutchinson prepared:

  • 2 whole English muffins
  • 2 whole eggs and 250 g of egg whites
  • 95 g of protein waffles (“Bowl of Gains”)
  • 100 g of strawberries and 75 g of banana
  • 15 g of jam and 30 g of peanut butter

“It’s going to be a great day. This meal alone will give me 60 grams of protein, 177 grams of carbs, and 26.5 grams of fat. After my next meals, I’ll feel absolutely fantastic,” Jordan said.

Meal 2: Rice, Meat, and Digestive Support

  • 115 g lean beef steak (top sirloin)
  • 375 g rice
  • 10 g butter
  • 20 g dates
  • Sauerkraut and sauce

Hutchinson also takes care of his gut health, which is why he included sauerkraut in this meal—which he buys in bulk at Costco.

Meal 3 (Pre-Workout Meal): Extreme Pump

  • 115 g chicken
  • 260 g rice
  • 3 caramel rice cakes
  • 110 g apples, 18 g peanut butter, 20 g honey

Jordan shared his favorite pre-workout ritual—he adds softened apples (specifically the Cosmic Crisp variety) to his chicken and rice, which, together with the honey and rice cakes, provides him with quick energy for a tough workout.

Meal 4 (Post-Workout Meal): Fast Carbs and Recovery

A brutal leg workout is followed by a sweet reward:

  • 140 g of “Bowl of Gains” mix (peanut cookie and strawberry flavor)
  • Strawberries and bananas (approx. 15 g of carbohydrates)
  • Whey protein (strawberry and cream flavor)
  • Pieces of Lotus Biscoff cookies, peanut butter, and 15 g of strawberry jam

Jordan also revealed to his fans that he’s been struggling with a dysfunctional left hip, which has forced him to add extra physical therapy to his routine. He said this was his last tough leg workout of this training cycle.

Meal 5: A Classic with a New Twist

  • 375 g of rice and 115 g of chicken
  • 20 g dates and 14 g butter
  • A glass of kombucha (approx. 240 ml)
  • Sweet-nut sauce from Flavor Gang

Together with the kombucha, this meal provided a great 45 g of protein, 130 g of carbohydrates, and 15 g of fat.

Meal 6: A “cheat meal” from McDonald’s to wrap things up

Although he’s just two weeks away from his professional competitions, Jordan ended the day with a hearty burger:

  • McDouble Quarter Pounder with cheese (no onions)
  • Large fries

This meal provided him with an additional 63 g of protein, 172 g of carbohydrates, and 87 g of fat.

When all the numbers are added up, Jordan Hutchinson’s daily intake looks like this:

  • Calories: 6,652 kcal
  • Protein: 311 g
  • Carbohydrates: 951 g
  • Fat: 172 g

Will the legend’s advice make a difference?

A large part of the bodybuilding community is already behind Hutchinson. Four-time Mr. Olympia champion Jay Cutler has also expressed his admiration for him. Cutler has said that if Jordan gains a little more mass and works on the details of his back, he has a chance to break into the elite Top 4 at the Olympia in the future.
