Bodybuilder Youtuber 'Masood Chandi' murdered by brother-in-law in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old bodybuilder-cum-YouTuber, SK Mahboob, also known as Masood Chandi, was bludgeoned to death at his residence in Golconda by his brother-in-law and others over personal disputes on Friday evening. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.The deceased, who worked as an electrician, uploaded bodybuilding videos on YouTube under the name Masood Chandi and had over 2,500 followers.“He wears silver jewellery and makes videos under the name Masood Chandi,” said Tolichowki ACP Syed Fayaz.At around 3. 30pm, Mahboob’s brother-in-law, SK Sohail, along with his associates Affu and Jaber, arrived at his house in Kummarwadi, Golconda.They allegedly picked up an argument with Mahboob and attacked him with iron rods. “With severe head injuries, Mahboob died on the spot,” said Krishna Goud, additional DCP of Golconda.During the preliminary investigation, police found that Mahboob had fallen in love with Salma Begum from the Bada Bazaar area of Golconda and had married her 18 months ago. The couple has a six-month-old son.Police said both families were unhappy with the marriage and that the marital relationship had recently become strained as Mahboob was allegedly not treating his wife properly.On Monday, Mahboob sent Salma and their son to her parental home due to differences. “Mahboob’s in-laws were unhappy. Sohail, along with his associates, went to Mahboob’s house to confront him and, during the argument, attacked him with a rod,” the ACP said.Three special teams have been formed to trace the accused, who are absconding. “As of now, we suspect there were three accused. We are trying to arrest them quickly and ascertain the exact reason for the murder,” the additional DCP said.The body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination. Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Ismail, a case was registered under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Sohail and others.
