ISLE OF Wight bodybuilder Pearl Dobson struck gold on the international stage at the age of 61, with a stand-out performance at the Olympia Amateur Spain contest in Alicante.
Competing in the Women’s Bikini Masters 50+ category, the Pearly Bodybuilding founder impressed against a strong European field, to secure first place and add another major title to her growing record.
Her latest success follows months of intensive preparation — combining early morning training, strict nutrition and unwavering discipline, to peak on one of amateur bodybuilding’s biggest stages.

Speaking afterwards, Pearl said: “To represent both the Isle of Wight and Great Britain was an incredible honour.

“Hearing my name announced as the winner was unforgettable.
“It made all the hard work worthwhile.”

She also praised coach, Will George, for his role in her success, adding his belief and support had been vital throughout.
Pearl’s career has taken her across the world.
She won her first major title abroad in Metz, France, and achieved fifth place at the World Masters Championships in Milan.
On her 60th birthday in May last year, Pearl competed at the Arnold Sports Festival in São Paulo, finishing second in one category and third in two others.
Last October, she also added gold and silver medals at the NPC Worldwide Vitae Plant Classic.
Pearl is already looking ahead to future competitions, and said she hopes her achievement will inspire others to believe that age should never be a barrier to chasing your dreams.
