Isle of Wight bodybuilder and personal trainer Pearl Dobson has returned home an international champion after winning gold at Olympia Amateur Spain.
The 61-year-old claimed first place in the Women’s Bikini Masters category at the prestigious competition in Alicante, competing against athletes from across Europe while representing both the Isle of Wight and Great Britain.
Regarded as one of the biggest events in amateur bodybuilding, Olympia Amateur Spain attracts competitors from across the continent and offers athletes the chance to compete on one of the sport’s most recognised stages.
Months of dedication, early morning training sessions, strict nutrition and unwavering discipline all led to the moment Pearl was crowned champion.
Pearl said:
“To represent both the Isle of Wight and Great Britain was an incredible honour.
“Hearing my name announced as the winner was an unforgettable moment and made all the hard work worthwhile. I hope my journey shows that it’s never too late to set yourself a goal and achieve something special.”

Pearl was also keen to pay tribute to her coach, Will George, whose support and expertise helped her prepare for the competition.
She added:
“Will has been absolutely amazing throughout this journey. His knowledge, encouragement and belief in me have helped me achieve something I once thought was impossible, and I couldn’t have done this without him.”
Away from the stage, Pearl runs Pearly Bodybuilding, where she helps people of all ages improve their health, fitness and confidence through personalised coaching and support.
Fresh from her success in Spain, Pearl is already looking ahead to future competitions and hopes her achievement will inspire others to realise that age should never be a barrier to transforming their lives and pursuing their dreams.
