Local leaders say rising housing costs are squeezing renters and would-be buyers across the Monroe area, with some one-bedroom rents now running about $1,000 to $1,200 a month. Organizers hope Saturday’s Housing Fair and Expo will connect residents with housing, financial and employment resources that could improve affordability. The event runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Abe Pierce III Convention Center.
